Residents engage with the draft land use plan at an event in July 2023. After approval near the end of 2023, town planning staff have worked to integrate the details of the plan in Southern Pines' regulatory documents.

The Southern Pines Planning Department does not miss a beat when it comes to implementing details of the 1-year-old future land use plan.

The 2040 Comprehensive Land Use Plan is a guiding document for future growth, drafted after extensive feedback from the Southern Pines community. At roughly 250 pages, it was approved by the Town Council in 2023.
